THE UK'S Longest-surviving quad amputee has partnered his business with a children's charity.
Ray Edwards MBE, of Sandhurst, is the chairman of 'Limbcare', an organisation helping amputees.
Now, his charity has joined forces with 'Bless The Children' to help better the lives of disabled Romanian children.
The link-up will see artificial limbs, wheelchairs and equipment to rural Romania in order to provide a better quality of life.
Limbcare’s Chairman Ray Edwards MBE said: “We are delighted and proud to help in this initiative which fits clearly with Limbcare’s mission towards creating greater independence for all amputees and limb impaired people, and helping individuals improve their quality of life.”
Since 2010, Limbcare has amassed a large collection of prosthetic limbs, wheelchairs and walking aids through work with local hospitals.
Now, Limbcare and Bless The Children will be donating these items to less fortunate children in Romania.
Bless The Children (UK)’s Carol Marsh added: “Words cannot express how much joy these limbs will bring to the young people we are helping in Romania.
"Many would have have little or no hope of regaining their mobility otherwise. This simple gesture will have a major impact on their immediate and later lives.”
