DEMOLITION has begun on two office blocks in Bracknell, with 99 new homes to take their place.

The two offices on Broad Lane have been destroyed by what the developing firm calls a 'monster muncher' machine, which has ripped down the two tower blocks.

The 2.17 acre site will be equipped with 83 private homes and 16 affordable houses across three and four storey apartment blocks, all coming with car parking spaces.

Demolition works will take eight weeks to complete, with the first phase of homes to go on sale for March 2018.

Richard Harris, Demolition Manager of J Mould, said: “We prepped the buildings, disconnecting all utilities and stripping it of fixtures and fittings, prior to the demolition works starting.

"All the concrete and hard-core will be crushed and recycled on, for Bellway Homes to use in their construction.”
