THE ORGANISATION which led the campaign to have Heatherwood Hospital rebuilt is hosting a photography exhibition this month.
The Save Heatherwood Hospital campaign is joining forces with Defend Our Community Services to put on 'How We Didn't Know' at Jagz in Ascot.
The Station Hill nightclub will be filled with the works of Marion Macalpine, a photographer and member of Hackney Keep Our NHS Public who highlights what she sees as the continued privatisation of the country's health service.
On her website Macalpine writes: "To keep our NHS in the private sector, the Government needs to abolish the commissioner-provider split.
"This split means that one part of the NHS buys health services either from another part of the NHS to plan and deliver the services to meet community needs.
"The exhibition also shows a victory in Hackney through community pressure, which restored out of hours care to local GPs rather than being run by the 'wholly inadequate' private company Harmony, and the corporates who own it."
The exhibition runs from September 18 to 22, 12pm to 8pm each day.
A launch takes place at 6pm on Monday with guest speaker Tony O'Sullivan, co-chair of Keep Our NHS Public.
