POLICE raided a lorry containing Afghan illegal immigrants after a public tip-off.
In total, nine immigrants were detained, while the driver of the lorry was also arrested on suspicion of helping aid unauthorised access to the UK.
A 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal immigration and is in police custody awaiting interview by Immigration Enforcement Criminal and Financial Investigation officers.
Nine males who presented themselves as Afghan nationals were arrested by police officers on suspicion of entering the UK illegally.
Eight men remain in police custody. A claimed minor will be passed into the care of social services. All of their cases will be dealt with according to the immigration rules.
The youngest male was 14 years of age.
