A MAN has been sentenced for assaulting and verbally abusing police officers outside his own home.
Christopher Krarup, of Queens Pine, returned home on Thursday, August 3, in a drunk state to find two police officers outside his property after his wife had reported a sighting of an intruder.
Reading Magistrates Court heard Mr Krarup yelled at the two officers: "F*** off you c****, if it were one on one I would do you."
He proceeded to kick one of the officers on the leg and was subsequently arrested for assaulting a constable in the execution their duty and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Appearing in court Mr Krarup, who lives with his wife and four-year-old child, showed a great deal of remorse for his actions and said it was completely out of character.
He said: "I had been having a tough time at work and it was getting me down, I drank too much after work and acted inappropriately when I got home. I am embarrassed by what I did and it is not a reflection of the kind of person I am."
Mr Krarup was sentenced to a 24 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £155 costs.
