A trio of drug criminals who stabbed a man in his head in broad daylight have been put behind bars.

At 5pm on May 16, 2016, Anil Sharma, Giovanni Ashley and Mohamed Ali approached a man in his twenties in the Wayz Community Centre car park.

The gang attacked the man and stabbed him, leaving the victim requiring hospital treatment for bruising to his face and stab wounds to his head and the side of his torso.

When the trio were arrested the following day, police found cling film, scales with traces of drugs on and a number of mobile phones. 

Ali was charged with the offences on December 8, 2016. Sharma was charged on November 10, 2016 and Ashley was charged with the offences on October 27 2016. They were all convicted on July 17, 2017.

Sharma, 40, of St Marys Road, London, pleaded guilty to ABH and one count of concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine. He was sentenced to five years and nine months in prison. 

Ashley, 24, or St Marys Road, London, pleaded guilty to the same counts as Sharma, and was sentenced to a total of six years and three months. 

Ali, 23, of Eaton Avenue, Wembley, also pleaded guilty to the same counts, and was sentenced to five years and nine months.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Phil Appleby, of the Investigation Hub based at Loddon Valley police station, said: “Following a lot of hard work by officers this is a good result, and indicative of the robust approach under the stronghold campaign into the pursuit and prevention of organised crime gangs and the commitment to protecting the communities in our region.

“The three men were identified as a gang who regularly visited Bracknell from Ealing to deal in class A drugs.

"The sentencing should send a strong message to those who choose to inflict the harm on the community of Bracknell through selling class A drugs."
