One of the most popular stage shows in history, The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe, will be coming to Bracknell this year.

South Hill Park Arts Centre will be hosting the play, which will open its' doors on Friday August 18.

The show will be the first at the centre following the resignation of long-time Chief Executive and Artistic Director, Ron McAllister.

Director Joe Malyan said: “I was very aware that The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is done a lot in schools and theatres, and I was really keen to make this one different.

"We are staging the play as a promenade piece using both inside the Wilde Theatre and outside in South Hill Park’s grounds.

"The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe was one of those magical stories I remember having read to me as a child. It is a story that stays with you, along with the feelings it evokes.

"What child wouldn't want to disappear into a large wardrobe to find a magic land! I knew I would have to create something special to do justice to such a beautifully crafted story, much loved by children, parents and grandparents alike."

The show will run from August 18 to August 27, starring Amber Lily Payne as Lucy, and Caroline Loveys as The White Witch.

Prices are as follows: Adults £18.50, Concessions £17.50, Members £16.50, Children £15.50, Family (2+2) £55, Family (1+3) £52.
