WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook youngsters celebrated a double-winning season at a recent awards ceremony.

The players collected their Under 15s North East Hampshire Football League Premiership medals at a presentation evening in Aldershot.

And they boys were also handed the League Cup trophy following a memorable 2016/17 campaign.

The vast majority of last season’s squad were present to collect their awards, though Sean Farrell, Charlie Carter and Kyle Moorcroft were unable to attend.

Meanwhile, Rangers are poised to bid farewell to two players next season as striker Harry Clarke’s family are moving to Dubai and goalkeeper, Lewis Booth, has joined Aldershot’s Academy.

The club, which boasts around 45 boys and girls youth teams, is hopeful of bringing in replacements as part of a major summer recruitment drive.

They specifically need players in the boys’ Under 17/18s, U14s and U11s teams, while in the girls’ section the ladies’ team, U18s and U16s also require players.

In addition, Wokingham & Emmbrook are hoping to strengthen their men’s Saturday and Sunday teams and also their walking football side.

  • WOKINGHAM & Emmbrook’s ladies team has been boosted by a new influx of players.

They have picked up a number of former Bracknell Town ladies who were left without a team following a recent restructure.

Manager Sean Haynes said: “After years of playing together this would have been a huge shame.

“We are very happy to make our new home within a thriving community-led club like Wokingham & Emmbrook.”

Any players interesting in joining W&E ladies can attend training sessions on Monday nights at Cantley Park from 7pm - 8.15pm.
