A CHARITY that delivers boxes of essentials for repairing and rebuilding damaged homes received a generous donation from the Easthampstead Rotarians.

ShelterBox sources and delivers shelters to people in need across the world.

From family-sized tents designed to withstand strong wind and rain to classroom equipment, signature green boxes are used to deliver aid to humanitarian disasters across the world.

Earlier this month Charly Fullilove, Berkshire spokesman for ShelterBox, spoke to the Easthampstead Rotarians about the charity's work.

In return, the Rotarians donated £1,100.

Peter von Bergen, the Rotarian's public image chairman, said: "We have been supporting ShelterBox for years.

"At our club we support a local charities and one that is international.

"ShelterBox are a UK charity that operate world wide. It is unique in its range and scope.

"One of the things it is doing is getting into countries which other charities can't, like Uganda and North Korea."

The Easthampstead Rotarians meets most Monday evenings at the Coppid Beech Hotel, and have a varied social programme including speakers and visits to France and Belgium.
