A Bracknell video gaming team is participating in a 24 hour gaming marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support.

'Giving Gamers' is a team featuring Amber Pulling, Louis Zerilli, and Ryan Shilling, they will be participating in the gameathon to raise money for the charity, which is close to Amber's heart.

Ms Pulling's Nan was effected with stomach cancer, and Amber credits Macmillan for giving her mother support during the tough time.

She said: "Most people have been effected in some way by cancer, even someone they know, or themselves, including myself, so it means a lot to me and my friends to hold the campaign.

"Macmillan was doing a campaign for the game marathon, and they were encouraging others to hold their own 24 hour gaming marathons, and since I play a lot of video games, so do my friends, I thought it would be a great way to do a good charity event.

"It'll be held in Hartley Whitney around my partner's house, but everyone can watch it through twitch, which will be available to view through the Facebook page.

"I'm hoping to raise at least £100, but realistically I'd love it if we could reach £200.

"It'll be taking place on July 15 at midday, and will end on Sunday July 16 at midday.

"We're playing a whole variety of games, mainly on the Xbox one, mainly competitive multiplayer games, we're a team so we try to stick to as many multiplayer games as possible."

Ms Pulling is keen to keep the gaming marathon fun, and has ideas to make it fun for viewers as well as themselves.

She said: "Whoever loses will have to do a challenge or a forfeit, such as ice bucket challenge, leg waxing, arm waxing, ice down the shirt, all sorts.

"It'll definitely encourage a younger audience, I've noticed recently that most fundraising activities are sport related, my generation can be quite sporty but most of us, especially my friends, are more interested in video games and play video games a lot, so we thought it would be a great way to watch, support and give to charity."
