A NEW commander has been appointed for Bracknell and Wokingham.
Today Superintendent Shaun Virtue takes over the two town's Local Police Area (LPA).
Before stepping up to the position, Supt Virtue was the head of Thames Valley Police's tactical firearm unit.
He has been deployed to investigate organised crime, has worked in counter terrorism and was the deputy LPA Commander for Reading.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to be LPA Commander for Bracknell and Wokingham," explained Supt Virtue, who lives in Wokingham and has previously worked as the community and partnership inspector in Bracknell Forest.
“I have a personal affinity to the area and I am keen to pursue the good work and successes already in train to enhance the quality of life and safety of everyone in our community.
“I know the policing team and strong local partnerships will keep delivering a reliable service despite the challenging times ahead and I am proud of their commitment.”
Supt Virtue takes over from Supt Rob France, who has been appointed head of governance and service improvement department at TVP headquarters.
