THE MAYOR will join members of the community in planting flowers ahead of Bracknell in Bloom.

The Mayor of Bracknell Town Cllr Clive Harrison and his consort will be planting flower beds at The Elms Park, Park Road, Bracknell with young people from The Ark Trust. On Thursday, June 8 June from 10.30 am -12.30 pm.

Bracknell Town Mayor Cllr Clive Harrison said: “Preparations are underway for 2017 Bracknell in Bloom and I am delighted to attend The Elms community inspired planting.

“The Ark Trust has Spanish connections and the young people have done a tremendous job designing the flower beds.”

In honour of their Spanish connections one of the flower beds will be planted with red and yellow begonias in the form of a Spanish flag.

Another will be planted with yellow, white and blue plants to represent the flag of The Canaries islands, while the third will be a sensory flower bed which will provide an abundance of red in the autumn and a variety of smells and shapes.

The Elms will form part of the Bracknell in Bloom judging route on July 26.
