THREE men tried to snatch a woman's handbag in broad daylight.

At around 6.20pm last Tuesday (March 14), a woman in her twenties was walking in Sandy Lane in the direction of Warfield.

As she walked towards the primary school, she saw three men stood by the bench in front of the school.

When she got to Holly Spring Lane, the same men ran up behind her and tried to snatch her handbag but failed to grab it and then ran off back in the direction of Sandy Lane.

The victim was not injured.

The offenders are believed to be white and in their late twenties. The first man was described as 5ft 11, slim, with dark hair. He was wearing a dark-hooded top and bottoms.

The second man was 5ft 9, slim, with blond hair. He was wearing a dark tracksuit.

The third man was 5ft 9, slim, with dark short hair. He was wearing a dark tracksuit.

Investigating officer, PC Marc Boyd of Loddon Valley Local Area CID, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim, and I'm just pleased that she was not physically harmed and her bag wasn't stolen.

"However, this is shameful behaviour and we need to identify those responsible. "If anyone witnessed the offence or has any information that could assist with the investigation, please call the 24-hour Thames Valley Police."
