A VOYEUR who filmed women sitting on the toilet at a department store in Bracknell for his own sexual gratification walked free from court.

Kaelon Jones, from Binfield, was caught red-handed by his victim in the unisex toilet in Bentalls High Street before he had the chance to film her on August 7, 2015.

Magistrates were told at this point the 21-year-old jumped off the cubicle he was standing on attempting to carry out his lewd act before saying 'it's not what it looks like' and apologizing.

He initially denied his wrongdoing, claiming he was 'texting a friend', but after CCTV images were circulated by the store in an appeal, he handed himself into Bracknell police station on August 15.

“An image on his phone of another woman at the same location believed to have between taken November 15, 2015 and October this year was found by officers,” said prosecuting, Philip Allman.

“Clearly, it has had an emotional effect on both of them.”

Victim statements read out in court told of the damaging effects the incident has had on the women, with both explaining how they have since felt anxious, vulnerable and afraid.

Defending, Mark Williams, said Jones has already sought counselling through his church group for his pornography addiction and is involved in talking therapies for his depression and anxiety.

“He is particularly remorseful, particularly sorrowful for his actions and in the impact that he has had on others. He tried to make amends immediately but he only made matters worse,” he said.

Passing a 26-week sentence suspended for two years, judge Shoman Khan said: “The facts of this case are deeply unpleasant, we have two victims who will suffer long lasting effects.

“Had it not been for your guilty plea you would be serving a custodial sentence, but in my view the best way to manage your behaviour will not be treated by a prison term.”

Jones, of Popeswood Lodge, was convicted at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, December 15 after he admitted two counts of voyeurism at the same court on November 23.

He was told he will remain on the Sex Offenders Register for the next seven years, issued with a restraining order against the women, ordered to pay costs of £215 and carry out unpaid work.
