YOUNGSTERS from an Ascot prep school honoured World Clean Up Day by giving Ascot Racecourse a much-needed spruce up on Thursday, September 15.
Pupils in Years 6 to 8 from Papplewick School spent a hour tidying litter on the famous racecourse, throwing away everything from drink cans to discarded supermarket packaging.
The boys made the most of the sunny afternoon going around the course and noting the local wildlife.
Headmaster Tom Bunbury said: "Papplewick has an eco committee and runs regular eco-days where the boys can participate in activities that matter to them.
"These include wildlife protection, tree planting, saving energy and sustainability."
Papplewick has been awarded a Silver Green School Award is working towards getting a Gold Award.
