A WOKINGHAM charity that works with disadvantaged people through equine therapy, small animals and horticulture, were given a helping hand by an aquatic retailer.

Just Around the Corner (JAC), who support youngsters through a variety of different activities, such as cookery, pottery, arts and crafts and welding, were offered guidance setting two newly-donated fish tanks by Maidenhead Aquatics in Binfield.

JAC, based at their centre Rehoboth in Forest Road, wanted to have one fish tank running in their kitchen and one in a classroom, where educational programmes such as functional skills and English and maths are taught.

The store checked the tanks were working and donated filters and lights to get them up and running as well as other accessories.

The teenagers visited the retailer at the end of term and to learn about the different types of fish they can have in cold and hot water tanks.

Rob Moulding, manager of Maidenhead Aquatics, said: "It was a pleasure to support this local charity and meet some of the young people that they are working with. They asked lots of questions and really enjoyed their visit."
