THOUSANDS of residents from across Reading are being asked for their views on the town’s highways and transport services as part of a nationwide survey.

At least 3,300 people will be participating in a postal questionnaire which will prompt them for comments on everything from the condition of roads and footpaths to the quality of cycling facilities.

Everyone who receives a form is urged to send in their opinions, either by mail or online via a short URL printed on the paper.

Reading Borough Council is just one of 106 authorities from around the country which are taking part in the research.

The survey is now in its ninth year and gives the public a chance to decide which transport services should be prioritised.

Councillor Tony Page, lead councillor for strategic planning and transport, said: “Everyone has views on issues such as traffic, buses and cycling and this is an opportunity for some of our residents to give their thoughts.

“I would urge every household which receives a survey to complete and return it.

“This would enable the council to receive invaluable information about what people think is working well and where we could do better.”
