A MAN has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a train on a level crossing early this morning.

The 29-year-old suffered life-threatening and life-changing injuries.

South Central Ambulance Service along with Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police were called to the scene at 6.20am.

David Gallagher, a spokesman for the ambulance trust, said: "We were called to reports a person had been hit by a train on an unmanned level crossing in Crowthorne.

"We sent two officers along with an ambulance and a doctor.

"The patient sustained life threatening and life changing injuries and was taken to South Hampton General."

Great Western said all lines have reopened now but there are still delays of up to 30 minutes to services.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
