A CYCLIST had to be rushed to hospital after he was assaulted in the eye on Tuesday in what police have described as an act of ‘cowardice’.
Dylan Wyatt, 37, was biking from Crowthorne to Bracknell when an egg was lobbed at him from a car driving past.
The victim was travelling on the B3348 Bracknell Road at about 8.30pm at the time of the vicious attack.
He was sent to Frimley Park Hospital for treatment and was later discharged, but needs follow-up appointments to help restore his eyesight.
The vehicle involved in the assault is thought to be a grey Peugeot 205 or 305.
Investigating officer Ben Eastment, of Bracknell police station, said: “This was a cowardice act that caused an extremely serious eye injury.
“I am appealing to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward, especially if you know who was driving that Peugeot vehicle or know who threw the egg.”
