THESE impressive photos show a side of Bracknell town centre not many people will often see after drones were sent up to snap a few shots of the ongoing regeneration work from above.

The team behind The Lexicon, Bracknell's long-awaited £240m regeneration project, sent up a drone camera to get a bird's-eye view of the buildings as the slowly but surely start to take shape ahead of the complex opening to the public in one year's time.

In the photographs, taken in April, the former Charles Square is shown from above, without its iconic water clock, where a new shopping street will be created leading from Stanley Walk into the new development, it's also where a new Primark store will take up space.

The main development area has also been snapped from above, looking from Millenium Way towards Princess Square, with the buildings being cladded and the exteriors erected ready for work to the interiors to take place.

A 12-screen Cineworld, shops including a Marks and Spencers, Fenwicks and Topshop as well as a host of new restaurants will transform the look of the town centre after years of false starts.

The last restaurant to be announced was Tex-Mex eatery Chimichanga, while several new shops are yet to be revealed.
