FEARS for the welfare of an 84-year-old Alzheimer's and dementia sufferer are growing after he disappeared this morning.

John Hayes was last seen in Terrace Road South in Binfield at around 9.30am.

He is white, around 5ft 4ins tall with a small build, neat grey hair and an Irish accent.

He was smartly dressed, wearing a navy blue three quarter length jacket, grey trousers, black slip-on shoes, a blue checked shirt and blue cardigan.

Investigating Officer, Inspector Michael Bettington, based at Bracknell police station, said: "We are very concerned for the welfare of John who hasn’t been seen since this morning.

"He has dementia and Alzheimer’s so we would like any help from the public in finding him, we are particularly worried that he might be out in the open in the very poor weather we are experiencing.

"Please call Thames Valley Police on 101 with any information regarding John’s whereabouts or if you have seen him today quoting reference 376 11/04/16."

Mr Hayes is known to visit Bracknell, including the town centre.
