A PAIR of men were rushed to hospital after a car they were in hit a tree in Winkfield last night.

One of them men suffered life-threatening injuries and the other was seriously injured after their Subaru hit a tree in Bishops Lane.

The air ambulance was called to the scene at 9.50pm on its second ever night flight on Thursday, February 11.

David Gallagher, a spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service, said: "There were two patients trapped in the car.

"We sent two ambulances and the air ambulance. Both patients were taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in a land ambulance.

"The air ambulance crew travelled in the ambulance with the patient with life-threatening injuries."

Bracknell's firefighters were called to the scene to clear vegetation so the ambulance could land. Both the men had been removed from the car when the fire crew arrived.
