CHARITIES and community groups across Bracknell have the chance to win a £1,000 cash boost after mobile phone giant Vodafone joined forces with the Bracknell News to find a worthy cause in the town.

Over the next month, the News will be inviting readers to nominate a charity they believe makes a huge difference to the local community and needs a bit of a cash injection to help fund a new project or fresh appeal.

With a branch in Princess Square, Vodafone are offering the money as part of their Community Connection Award in efforts to give a little back to the communities they serve.

The Bracknell branch staff and the News will join forces to announce the winning charity in the paper and online on Wednesday, December 16.

To nominate a charity, email news@bracknellnews.co.uk with 'Vodafone Community Connection Awards' in the subject line and explain in no more than 200 words which charity you wish to nominate, what the money would be used for and why the charity deserves to win.

To be eligible for the Community Connection Award, nominees must be a local charity that make a significant impact on the community.

It cannot be a personal or individual plight or a government funded organisation and must be for a specific project or purpose, not just to cover operating costs.

The award must be stand alone and not form any part of a larger contribution or bigger appeal and nominees must have a registered charity number.

Entries can also be sent to Bracknell News, Bowman House, 2-10 Bridge Street, Reading, RG1 2LU

Emails and letters must be received before 5pm on Monday, December 7.
