A INDUSTRIAL warehouse has partially collapsed following a huge blaze that "engulfed" it last night.

Fire fighters from across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire descended on the scene at about 10.30pm last night and are continuing to douse the flames.

The Cube building, where the fire broke out, partially collapsed at around 8.30am.

A small number of staff were in and around the buiding at the time but no one was seriously injured in the fire.

The Cube building is home to production firm NEP Visions Ltd and a large quantity of filming and TV equipment went up in the flames.

The broadcasting corporation has been involved with the production of the X Factor, Big Brother and American Idol and is reported to have filmed the Royal Wedding.

Crew manager James McMullen, of Bracknell fire station, said: "The fire engulfed the whole building.

"It is a big warehouse building and was full of electrical appliances.

"We were there from 10.30pm until 5am this morning and we still have a few guys down there damping down and there may be some pockets of fire left."

Rob Newton, director of engineering at the firm, said: "A fire took hold at about ten ish. It spread incredibly quickly.

"There was one person in the building but they got out as the alarms went off.

"The fire service are still investigating, the damage is so severe, they don't they will do."

He added that lorries had transported some of the company's TV equipment but it was still unknown at this point how much damage had actually been caused.

Some of the trucks used to transport the equipment away from the blaze, which were then parked around the industrial estate, were also fire-damaged.

Chris Bunyan, an incident manager for the fire service, had been despatached to the scene to help get the blaze under control.

He confirmed crews were currently attempted to damp down the flames using an aerial ladder platform.

The building is reported to have originally used for cold storage which means it was made of 'sandwich panels', which are highly flammable.

Fire fighters were unable to get inside the building due to the risk of it collapsing.
