A BRAND new awareness campaign for a charity based in Crowthorne kicked off last week with staff wearing their clothes inside out.

Employees at DEBRA, a national charity supporting people and families affected by a painful genetic skin blistering condition known as Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), spent last Thursday, October 1 dressed inside out to launch the new fundraising and awareness campaign '#showyourseams'.

The inside-out campaign has been inspired by the struggle faced by people suffering EB who sometimes have to turn their clothes inside out to prevent labels and seams causing friction and damage to their skin.

The charity hopes their new campaign will raise better awareness of EB and how debilitating it is.

Ben Merrett, DEBRA’s chief executive, said: "Every year October 25-31 marks EB Awareness Week, but this year we want to create a bigger buzz so we’re turning the whole of October into EB Awareness Month and asking everyone to #ShowYourSeams! You can get involved by taking a selfie of yourself wearing your t-shirt inside out and posting it on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #ShowYourSeams or you could hold a #ShowYourSeams dress down day and ask colleagues or classmates to wear their t-shirt inside out for a small donation."

Awareness and funds raised will help DEBRA continue research into treatments to provide relief and ultimately a cure for EB
