Olimpia Morrison, director of sixth form, said: "Congratulations to all our Year 13 students.

"It is always pleasing when students' hard work is rewarded. The excellent grades achieved have resulted in a very large number of our students being accepted on to their first choice of university and a significant number will be going on to Russell Group universities.

"This year two students are going to Oxford University, one to Cambridge University and one to Yale University in The United States. "

Mr Andrew Linton, Head of Year 13, said: “It is fantastic to see that the students’ hard work and dedication over the last two years has paid off and many have achieved outstanding results.

"Many congratulations to them. They thoroughly deserve their success.”

Co-headteacher Richard Pilgrim said: "This year’s results have brought lots of happiness to our final-year students.

"There are some tremendous individual performances of which they, and the school, can be proud.

"Overall, we have bettered last year’s excellent figures by a significant margin, especially the number of higher grades being awarded.

"Our students, staff and parents deserve great credit. Particular thanks go to everyone who was at school at 6.30am today to celebrate.

"We wish all our students well as they embark on their chosen courses and hope that they will all join our thriving alumni group, Charters Connect.”

Students celebrate their success.

Headteacher Karl McCloskey said: “All of our students have worked extremely hard to achieve this outstanding set of results.

"I am delighted that the Marist has maintained another fantastic year of results, which demonstrate the students’ high standards of academic attainment.

"Yet again the Marist sixth-form experience has opened the door of opportunity for its students to progress to higher education. We are proud of all our students and wish them every blessing as they advance onwards and upwards towards the next chapter of their educational formation and personal development.”

St George's School.

A total of 90 per cent of grades awarded were A*-C and 42 per cent of grades were A* or A.

Top marks in the school went to deputy head girl Emily Dominey from Eton, who has decided to take a gap year as a nanny near Paris, before applying to Oxbridge this autumn. Emily, who achieved two A*s and two As in Classics, English Literature, French and History, has been an invaluable leader at the school and conduit between staff and students, running the student council and mentoring younger pupils".

She was a member of the winning team of the Georgian Gallop – a run held on St George’s Day at the school – an enthusiastic member of the Book Club and volunteers teaching and helping French children, who are in the UK, learn French and about French culture.

Headmistress Rachel Owens said: “I am thrilled with this year’s results and in particular the value we, as a school, have added for our pupils. Reflecting on what our students have attained shows what a rounded education we offer here at St George’s. Not only have the girls gained excellent academic results, these pupils have been empowered to achieve personal excellence and really follow their aspirations.

Heathfield School.

The school enjoyed a 99-per-cent pass rate, 90-per-cent of A*-C grades, 70 per cent of the girls achieved A*-B, 40 per cent of pupils gained A*-A and 16 per cent achieved A*s.

Eight in ten girls achieved an A*-A grade in their exams, while a third of the girls achieved at least two A*-A grades in their tally of A Levels.

Candidates achieved an impressive clean sweep of A*-A grades in Art and Design, Spanish, German and Russian with all A*-B grades in History of Art and Music.

The results see pupils confirming places at top UK universities including Bristol, Exeter, Reading, Edinburgh, Newcastle and the University of the Arts London and at international institutions including the University of British Columbia in Canada.

Subjects the girls will read include Politics, History, Geography, Graphic Design, Food Science and International Business.

Head of Heathfield School Mrs Jo Heywood said: "This is a superb performance from our 2015 A Level candidates. All of our girls are now set to confirm their first-choice places at university. Congratulations to all of the girls and to the Heathfield staff, who have nurtured their talents and inspired them to success. I wish the girls all the best as they embark on their degree studies."

LVS Ascot.

The school saw an overall pass rate of 96.2 per cent, up from 96.1 per cent in 2014, 42.6 per cent gained A*-B grades and 16.3 per cent achieved A*-As. Hundred percent of pupils taking vocational qualifications passed and 71 per cent of those passed with distinction.

Twenty-three departments boasted a 100 per cent pass rate from Pure and Further Maths to English, Chemistry, Biology,  Russian, History, Music and Law, whilst the Extended Project Qualification attracted an A*- A rate of 100 per cent.

Head of Sixth Form Charlie Jenkins said: “With the diverse range of courses and range of abilities that we cater for the results were exceptional.

"Thirty five courses is a huge range for a sixth form of 200 students, and we are growing that range for 2016 which emphasises our commitment to allowing students to excel at their individual strengths. Our students sat 54 more A-level exams than last year which shows how much they are thriving here”.

Ruth Dow defied the odds with the school’s help to post excellent results and reach her first choice university. A talented rugby player who has represented England at U18 level and also broken into the England U20 squad, Ruth missed two months of her A-Levels having been seriously injured in a rugby match with doubts whether she would even be able to walk again.  Despite this and having to play catch up with her studies, Ruth achieved qualifications of A in PE and Bs in Psychology and Biology and will now study Psychology at Manchester University, a success which she puts down to the support of her teachers.

She said: "The staff here are amazing and put in a lot of time with me personally to stay positive and stay up to date with my subjects – now because of that I’m off to Manchester University!”

The Patel family, from Burghfield Common, had extra reason to celebrate as twins Alisha and Ashish both made it into their first choice universities with a combination of As, Bs and Cs.

Their father Anurag Patel said: “I’m so proud of what they, and the school has achieved. It has been a stressful countdown to results day but we are delighted – LVS Ascot has looked after us, and with its supportive nature, high standards and the right culture for the twins we couldn’t have been anywhere better”.

Principal Christine Cunniffe added: “Once again we are extremely proud of the tremendous results our students have achieved this year. More students are achieving top grades than in previous years and all students have achieved to the best of their ability. Not only have we produced outstanding A level results but our vocational results are equally impressive. Well done to everyone!”
