The Emmbrook School.

The school saw more than 200 students sit A level exams and enjoyed a 99.7-per-cent pass rate. The percentage of results at grades A*/A rose to 21 per cent with nearly half of all applicants getting a B grade or higher.

The school had its most successful student ever as Jonathan Betteridge secured four A* grades, which will take him to Jesus College at Oxford.

Head teacher Nigel Matthias said: "The results show a further rise from the excellent results of 2014, when the school sixth form was judged to be in the top 15 per cent of schools in England for value added attainment.

"These results come as we enter a new phase in the life of our school. The completion of the £2m English block together with the opening of a new sixth-form centre will ensure our sixth form have the cutting edge facilities they deserve during this new academic year."

 

The Forest School.

Students at the school were celebrating results that will take them to universities such as Durham, Cardiff and Bath.

The school enjoyed a 99per cent pass rate with grades between A* and E. Some 72 per cent of the grades were between A* and C.

Head teacher Mary Sandell said: "We are obviously very proud of our students. There are some that have really done well and nearly everyone has what they need.

"Whilst our pupils have always excelled in subjects such as chemistry and further mathematics, we are particularly pleased to see growth in the humanities and the arts, with Ben Caton going to read music at Leeds and Jake Reynolds and Michael Glanville heading to drama school."

Conal Watterson, Alastair McRae and James Allum celebrate their results outside the Forest's new sixth-form centre.

Conal Waterson achieved A* in PE, A in Biology and B in Chemistry and is off to Cardiff to study Physiotherapy.

Alastair McRae is going to Bath to read Maths after getting three A*s and an A, while James Allum will study Geography at Durham after geting  an A* in the subject along with two As.

The Holt School.

A total of 107 candidates sat exams with a 99-per-cent pass rate. A* to C grades made up the vast majority of the passes with 83 per cent of results being in these higher grades.

Siobhan Guilfoyle and Catherine McEnhill enjoyed A level success at the Holt School.

Headteacher Suzanne Richards said: "We are, once again, very pleased with our A level results. They are a delightful and hard-working year group fully deserving of their success.

"There were many instances of individuals who did exceptionally well. They were not the only successes. There were many more students who, although they did not achieve the highest grades did achieve excellent results, in some cases having overcome significant personal challenges."
