POLICE have seized nearly £25,000 from a 21-year-old drug dealer in Bracknell.

Tyler Hobden was caught supplying Methedrone, street name M-Cat, from his car in May 2014 and again in December 2014.

He has been forced to pay back the £24,833.42 he gained from his crimes on top of his 20 month jail sentence after admitting to four drugs offences and money laundering.

Investigating officer Det Con Doug Crowe said: "This is a fantastic cash seizure under the Proceeds of Crime Act following successful convictions for drug supply offences.

“This demonstrates that the police will target the suppliers of controlled drugs and will use this legislation to seize their assets and money, if criminals believe their money is safe once a sentence is handed down they are wrong. This legislation allows the police to hit criminals where it hurts.”

Hobden admitted two counts of supplying Methedrone, two counts of possession with intent to supply Methedrone and one count of money laundering when he appeared at Reading Crown Court on May 1.

A later hearing on July 10 ordered Hobden to repay thousands of pounds under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Hobden was first arrested and charged in May 2014 after he was caught supplying M-Cat from his car in Hanworth, he was caught again in December 2014 during a police crackdown on M-Cat dealers in Bracknell where drugs, a large quantity of cash and designer clothes were seized from his home in Liscombe.
