Finchampstead player Andrew House (100) made a brilliant century and Greg Davis scored 65 as the President’s declared on 300-4, but Mutombodzi’s incredible 146 not out stole the show.

The overseas star struck a series of enormous 6s, including one which landed on the new ground at Cross Green – literally in a different post code to the venue Mutombodzi was playing at.

Scott Dyer (44) and Alex Davidson (43) were also in form as Eversley made it home in 42 overs.

Meanwhile, the Boars slipped to a four-wicket defeat at Yateley in their Thames Valley League Division One clash on Saturday.

Scott Dyer’s team let themselves down with the bat as they were hustled out for just 108, with Anthony Muir the destroyer-in-chief with figures of 5-24.

Yateley then knocked the runs off – not without alarm – in the 26th over.

Eversley are second bottom on 108 points, though in a highly-competitive league, they are still only 42 points behind top-of-the-table Falkland.

The Boars travel to Kew on Saturday (1pm).

Eversley 2nds jumped to the top of the Division 4b table after hammering former leaders Yateley 2nds by nine wickets.

Joe Tucker claimed four wickets and his brother Dan three as Yateley were rolled over for just 96, and Matt Martin’s quick-fire 58 ensured the Boars sealed victory in the 14th over – Eversley taking 20 points and leaving their opponents without any.

Eversley 3rds hung on for a draw in a low-scoring Division 7a tussle at Maidenhead & Bray 3rds.

Rob Saunders (4-55) and James Berger-North (3-31) were the pick of the Boars attack as they bowled their opponents out for 168, Kieron Gray top scoring with 40.

However, aside from Berger-North (37), Eversley also found the going tough and it was left to Robin Brooks (28no) and Saunders to block out as their side ended on 144-8.

In Division 8a, Eversley 4ths slipped to a 60-run defeat at home to Reading 4ths. Opener Wazir Khan (93) was in outstanding form for Reading, leading his side to a solid 233-7 off their 47 overs, despite the best efforts of Tony Critchley (2-49) and Anap Urath (2-70).

Eversley were in command as they reached 123-3 on the back of a fine innings from Nick Weavers (54), but their middle and lower order fell away after Jack Wright (3-49) claimed three wickets in four balls.

David Bell and Grant Benbow also grabbed two wickets each.
