Rachel Sturgess, 41, pictured, entered Specsavers’s national competition in June, where entrants had to send in a picture of themselves wearing a pair of glasses.
Last week she was informed by the competition’s organisers that she had been selected as one of the South East’s regional finalists in the age 40-59 category.
Three others have also been selected as finalists, and Miss Sturgess will find out within the next week if she has made it to the national final, with only one of the regional finalists making it through.
She said: “I was really shocked when I found out that I had made it through but it is a really nice feeling.” As a regional finalist, she was also given a £150 Specsavers voucher, a framed certificate and a bottle of champagne.
