CAKES meant cash when a school handed over a fundraising cheque to a charity.

The pupils and staff of Garth Hill College, in Bull Lane, Bracknell, presented a cheque for £152.65 to the charity KIDS on Monday following two cake sales held at the school earlier this year.

Keith Grainger, principal at Garth Hill College said: “Several Garth Hill pupils are young carers and we work closely with KIDS to ensure these young people have the same opportunities and choices as their peers and to help them to unlock their full potential.” KIDS is a charity for disabled children which works to enable disabled children and young people and their families to enjoy their lives.

Clare Turner, service manage for KIDS UK, said: “We are very grateful to the pupils and staff at Garth Hill for raising this fantastic amount. With this money we can run a trip for all our young carers which will be wonderful.

“Thank you all so very much.”
