BRACKNELL Forest Council had the fewest number of complaints lodged against it of all six Berkshire local authorities last year.

In the 2013/14 financial year, the council received 28 complaints from residents – 25% of them being aimed at the education and children’s services department – according to figures released by the Local Government Ombudsman this month.

None of the complaints made were upheld, with only two warranting detailed investigations.

The Royal Borough received the second lowest number of complaints – 37 – while Wokingham Borough Council came third overall after 45 complaints were lodged, its education and children’s services department accounting for 14 of the complaints.

In Wokingham, eight complaints were investigated in detail and three were upheld.

Slough Borough Council received the most complaints of all the Berkshire authorities with 52.
