A procession of nearly 30 floats saw jugglers, marching bands, school children follow the carnival’s princess along Dukes Ride and High Street to kick off proceedings on Saturday.
The procession ended at the Morgan Recreation Ground, where visitors were greeted with an array of stalls, fairground rides and entertainment for the carnival’s summer fete.
