Downshire Golf Club, in Easthampstead Park, held an open event on the Friday, a team match on the Saturday and a members’ day on the Sunday.

Singer Jack Harris entertained guests on Sunday afternoon, while there were also competitions to win hundreds of prizes donated by shops and members.

There was also an offer for golfers to win a car if they notched a hole in one, but nobody proved successful.

The course had to be closed for two hours on the Saturday due to thunder and lightning but Matt Thomas, from the club, said the weekend was a big success.

He said: “It went really well and we had a great turnout – the day was a hit.”
