There were lots of activities including a talent show, coconut shy, penalty shoot-out and sumo wrestling in inflatable costumes.
An auction helped to further raise funds for the parent-teacher association, which will be invested back into Newbold School, in Binfield. There was a huge range of different cuisines from all around the world on sale – leading headteacher Jaki Crissey to say the school was like a “big outdoor café.” She said: “The day went really, really, well. The grounds were full and at the end everyone – teachers, children and parents – were all dancing to Happy [the hit song by Pharrell].
“There was a fantastic atmosphere and the talent show was very well supported. We had a little girl called Sara who won it after playing the guitar and singing, and there were a couple of gymnasts as well. I’d like to thank the Paula Bold from the PTA who works absolutely tirelessly every year.”
