A GROUP promoting safety in the workplace celebrated its 50th anniversary during an event in Warfield last Tuesday.

Guests gathered at Jealott’s Hill International Research Centre were treated to cake and other treats during the Thames Valley Health and Safety Group event.

They included Roger Bibbings, the secretary of Safety Groups UK, as well as Mike Wilcock, the head of operations for the south east branch of the Health and Safety Executive.

The Thames Valley Health and Safety Group aims to promote all aspects of occupational health and safety to both large and small businesses, and its members represent organisations and individuals throughout the Thames Valley.

Members of the Thames Valley Health and Safety Group are pictured with the Mayor of Slough Cllr Balvinder Bains and a special birthday cake.

The group’s mission is to help and educate businesses in complying with health and safety regulations.

It aims to give as much support as possible to small and medium enterprises in particular and is committed to helping local businesses to follow health and safety laws. By doing so, it hopes to reduce the number of deaths and accidents in the workplace.
