Youngsters from Sandy Lane Primary School in Bracknell held the exhibition after studying Vincent Van Gogh’s piece The Starry Night since the start of the new term in January.

Pupils from the school’s nursery right up to year six studied the artwork before making their own piece of art based on the piece for the exhibition last Wednesday.

Different stars and planets were all on display while some pupils took to designing mobiles and even papier-mâché rockets bigger than themselves.

The exhibition is a yearly event, where each spring term the pupils research a different art piece before laying on the exhibition before the start of the February half term.

This year’s exhibition also featured work from pupils from Ranelagh School.

A science dome planetarium was also available for the youngsters to enjoy – a giant dome which adults and children can climb inside and learn about stars and planets which are projected onto the ceiling of the dome.

Susan Tait, a Year Two teacher at Sandy Lane, said: “This art exhibition is an extremely popular annual event at Sandy Lane and judging from the comments from parents and pupils, this year has been one of the most successful yet.”
