Svatkovskij - who had worked with his lover at Waitrose distribution centre in Bracknell - will serve a minimum of 15 years in prison for his crime.
The prosecution alleged that the Lithuanian-born 31-year-old had stabbed Mr Vasiljevs in jealousy. The court had heard that the victim had started a relationship with the wife of his half-brother and had been planning to bring her and her children over to the UK.
Svatkovskij had denied murder, claiming Mr Vasiljevs committed suicide, but this was rejected by a jury of six men and six women, which unanimously found him guilty of the charge.
Mr Vasiljevs was fatally stabbed once in the heart on September 20 last year at the couple's home in Appledore, Great Hollands.
