A YOUNG woman had a lucky escape when her car skidded on some ice and flipped into a field near Twyford last night.
The woman, believed to be in her twenties, was driving along Wargrave Road when her black Ford KA hit a patch of ice sending it skidding off the road, through a hedge and gate and landed on its roof in a field.
The alarm was raised at around 8.07pm and firefighters from Wokingham Road rushed to the scene, but the woman had escaped from the overturned vehicle and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital with minor injuries.
