A NEW car park has been opened at Calfridus Way recreation ground in Harmans Water.

It has been created to ease the parking problems residents have experienced when rugby and football matches have taken place at the ground.

The car park will be open on match days and can provide parking for 36 cars.

Bracknell Town Council has landscaped the entrance with shrubs and bulbs which will provide a splash of colour in spring.

Borough and Town Councillors Trevor Kensall, Shelagh Pile and Chris Turrell provided money from their Members initiative Fund in a previous year to help get the project off the ground.

A further £25,000 of section 106 money paid by developers has been used to complete the car park.

Cllrs Pile and Turrell offically opened it on Thursday November 28.

Cllr Turrell said: “It is good to see these new facilities in place. Hopefully they will help the match day parking situation at Calfridus Way.”
