Ranelagh School celebrated a prestigious win in maths, second only to Eton College.
A team of four sixth form students from Ranelagh School, Ranelagh Drive, Bracknell, came second in the Berkshire Heat of the Senior Team Mathematics Challenge, beaten to the punch by Eton College.
The math-off took place at Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre, Surley Row, Reading, on Monday November 11, with 25 teams taking part. The team, Alex Williams, Marcus Tait, Beth Stevenson and Jessie McDonell, had to answer 10 complex questions in 40 minutes.
Head of Maths, Mrs Linda Cunningham, said, “The tension was palpable but our students were resilient under the time pressure and worked wonderfully as a team. We were thrilled with the outcome and all the staff at Ranelagh are very proud of the students for their outstanding achievement.”
