A BODY pulled from the River Kennet in Reading yesterday is believed to be that of a man who disappeared after walking out of the Royal Berkshire Hospital on Friday.
Alistair McDonald, 46, from Bracknell, was last seen at 11.30pm leaving the hospital, where he was receiving medical treatment.
Police were called to a stretch of the river near Sidmouth Street at 4.12pm by a member of the public, and the area was coned off while a specialist search and rescue team pulled the body out of the water.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but Mr McDonald’s family have been informed.
