STUNNING creations were on show at the preview evening of the 58th annual Wokingham Art Society summer exhibition on Friday, July 19.

Art lovers were treated to a range of fine work after the preview was opened by John Nike.

All the items on display at the exhibition, at St Paul's Parish Rooms, in Reading Road, are available for sale and about 100 artists have contributed to the art show.

The exhibition opened on Saturday and continues until August 3.

It is open daily from 10am to 5.30 pm, with a late-night opening on Thursdays until 8pm.

The work on show was judged by professional artist Soraya French and Wokingham Town Mayor, Cllr Martin Bishop handed out prizes to five worthy winners.

Liz Seward won the Best In Show for her mixed media painting "Jam & Jug", while the Vice President's Award went to Karen Marks for her beautiful ceramics.

The Ray Mills Award for any Medium was won by Katie Smith for "The London Ladies", a triptych painting of Giraffes.

"Dozey" by Brian Woods won the Sandra Fagan Prize for Watercolour, and the President's Award for Services to the Society went to publicity officer Annet Pullen.

Sue Smith's charcoal painting of a tiger, called "Jae Jae", was voted The People's Choice.
