AN inadequate number of houses have been built in Wokingham in the past six years, according to a Government planning inspector.
However, Patrick White-head has judged that Wokingham Borough Council's long-term housing plans - setting out where 13,000 homes will be built by 2026 - were sound.
In his report, Mr Whitehead said: "Despite the council's assertions, there can be no doubt that there has been underperformance in housing delivery over the past six years.
"The average [annual] figure is 329 compared to the 662 to meet the overall housing requirement." For the full story, buy a copy of this week's Wokingham News, still only 60p.
