THE Look In Community Cafe in Bracknell will close on Thursday - with no new home lined up.

The popular over 50s cafe has to move out of its Broadway base because of the regeneration of the town centre but a planned move to Charles Square has been abandoned. This was because Bracknell Regeneration Partnership would only grant them a year-long lease, as Charles Square will also be redeveloped in due course..

Director Terry Pearce said this did not represent good value for money because it would have cost up to 40,000 to refurbish the new premises.

He said: "I feel angry. We have had to tell people and staff it will be closing."

Mr Pearce said he had not given up hope of finding an alternative venue for the cafe.

He said: "I was involved right from the beginning when the council decided they didn't want to run it. I feel very committed to the cause.

"We are looking at one or two other places."

Leaflets informing customers of the news have been put in the cafe today (Thursday) - leaving customers devastated.

Are you a customer of the cafe? Will you be sad to see it close?
