FIREFIGHTERS were called to free an elderly man who had collapsed and fallen behind his bathroom door, preventing his rescue.
A crew from Bracknell Fire Station was called to the house on Denham Grove, Easthampstead at around 7.30pm last night (May 14), by the South Central Ambulance Service.
They used a hydraulic door spreader, which fits between the door and frame to dislodge it from its hinges and access the room.
A spokesman from South Central Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the address at around 7.10pm to deal with a 78 year-old man, who had slipped in his bathroom. They sent a doubled maned ambulance, which took the man to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.
