THE main road through Wokingham town centre has reopened but motorists will still face delays as another road is shut for water main replacement work.

Shute End is closed from today (Monday) while Broad Street is open again, so traffic will now be able to travel between Peach Street and Rectory Road.

Because Shute End is shut between its junctions with A329 Rectory Road and A321 Station Road, diversions are in place.

The alternative route for all Reading-bound traffic is via Denmark Street, Wellington Road and Station Road.

The alternative route for Bracknell-bound traffic (not HGVs) is via A329 Reading Road, B3030 Robin Hood Lane, B3030 Davis Street, B3030 Lodge Road, A321 Wokingham Road, A321 Twyford Road, A321 Milton Road and A321 Glebelands Road.

The alternative route for Bracknell-bound HGVs is via A329 Reading Road, A3290/A3299(M) access road, A3290, A329(M) and A329 London Road.
