A BIKE permit scheme will be scrapped next year in the wake of controversial car parking charges at The Look Out in Bracknell.
The Crown Estate - which leases the site to Bracknell Forest Council - has confirmed the 25 annual permit to cycle or ride a horse in Swinley Forest will stop on April 1.
Chief forester John Deakin says it is mainly down to the parking fees introduced by the council at The Look Out and Coral Reef in September as part of its overall efforts to balance its budget.
The Crown Estate and the council share revenue from parking tickets sold at The Look Out.
There is more on this story in the December 6 edition of the Bracknell News, on sale now.
