A HORSE rider was airlifted to hospital after a car crash on a country road in Winkfield yesterday.
The girl was taken to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey with facial injuries when the youngster and two accompanying riders were in collision with an Audi TT in Hatchet Lane at 2.50pm.
One of the victims - a woman - suffered a broken wrist and was taken to the same hospital by ambulance while a the third rider - also a girl - was checked over by paramedics at the scene.
Two of the horses were put down by vets at the roadside and another was treated by vets and the police closed the road for two hours while crews from Slough, Maidenhead and Bracknell fire stations and Dee Road station in Reading cleared the carriageway.
Officers have arrested a male motorist .
