VOTERS turned up to empty polling stations yesterday as the Thames Valley Police Crime Commissioner election saw a dismal turnout.
Just 13.1% of Bracknell Forest's 85,597 eligible voters bothered to cast their ballots, while Wokingham posted 13.9% from 120,052.
Slough had the lowest in the county at just over one in 10 (10.9%), compared to 13.5% in Windsor and Maidenhead and 13.4% in Reading.
Voting took place across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, with six candidates hoping to secure their place at the helm of the police force.
The result is expected to be announced later this afternoon.
